Introduction

The International Ballet Academy Programme is a partnership between parents, students and Moorland School. Our promise as professionals, is to equip students with an outstanding Ballet Programme of study, whilst ensuring they are both safe, happy and growing in confidence.

We ask parents to work with the school in partnership, respecting our professional judgement and guidance. We ask students to make a promise to listen and work hard academically, artistically and socially, showing respect to staff and their peers.

A ballet dancer needs many years of training and students who choose to dedicate their life to dance must find inspirational teachers.

Ballet is a challenging and exciting art form with so much more to be learnt than sheer technical accomplishments, artistry needs nurturing and individualism encouraged.

Moorland International Ballet Academy faculty are committed to providing the best holistic structured training possible to help students reach their potential, thus affording them the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality.

The technique of classical ballet is learned and perfected in a highly structured daily regime of classroom work delivered by experienced professionals. It is here that technique is maintained, strengthened and constantly refined.

Classes are conducted so that they are physically beneficial and instructive providing objective and constructive criticism regarding technique and artistry. We encourage self-discovery and nurture the development of each student’s unique artistic qualities. Students thrive on the positive and inspiring atmosphere created by the motivated faculty who value the importance of confidence and happiness.

Great Dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.

Since my daughters have become dance students at the Moorland International Ballet Academy, I have noticed a vast difference in all their dancing abilities, motivation, confidence and their enthusiasm. It has been a pleasure to see and watch their progression. I put this down to the expertise training methods of all the teachers, and the happy surroundings that Moorland School brings to the students.

Mrs Jayne Bestington Mother of Ex-Pupil, Paige Bestington

Moving our daughter to Moorland International Ballet Elite was the best decision we could have made. Simon and Lynsey Kidd are, without a doubt, two of the best classical ballet teachers I know. Their caring approach and continued support as well as the excellent ballet training has resulted in a happy confident young lady..

Mrs Beverley Kerry Proud Mother of Current Pupil

Throughout my training I have found both Lynsey and Simon to be fully supportive in all disciplines of my Ballet training. Not only have they guided me in my physical development, but also mentally too, helping me understand how to ‘think’ as a dancer and adapt my skills to different roles. They have tirelessly helped me to prepare for my career as a professional Ballerina.

There is not a single doubt in my mind that Simon and Lynsey are two of the best Ballet professionals that I have ever had the privilege to know, with classes superior than those you that you would find at even the best classical schools in the world. Their knowledge of the dance world is key to their training, as they know what is required to become professionals. I could never thank them enough for all that they have done for me.

Lynsey’s and Simon’s support and guidance before and during my time at The Royal Ballet Upper School was invaluable. The knowledge and expertise that they passed on to me gave me real confidence in my ability and this encouraged me to further my career. I just loved working with them as they always had so much to give.
