*Operating Safe Distancing as Standard due to Limited & Small Class Numbers
Nestled in the heart of one of the UK’s most desirable locations – the Ribble Valley, Moorland Private School offers a bespoke, tailored learning experience for children of all ages from reception to sixth form.
Unlike other boarding schools, our fees include no hidden costs, do not have compulsory exeat weekends and we accept children all year round, not just in September. Typically, military families who are eligible for CEA pay just £30 a week per child.
An Experienced Military School
We have been accepting admissions from military families for several years, so we understand the common concerns and worries such families have for their children. That is why we endeavour to create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for all military children.
Previous military children include those from Catterick, Weeton and Dale barracks (Chester), as well as those stationed at international barracks such as those over in Cyprus.
Regiments have included 1st Lancs, 2nd Lancs and 2nd Yorks, as a result of this established network we have also helped these parents connect, which we have found helps establish a deeper relationship with their child’s education, which is, of course, a major aim of parents.
We are also well versed with the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) grant and can offer support and guidance in this area. Parents who are eligible for the grant have 93% of fees covered by the MOD. That means military families are responsible for just 7% of payments, which typically works out at around £30 per week.
At Moorland, we are passionate about fostering an environment to ensure a successful social, emotional, and academic journey for your child.
Our educators consist of a blend of qualified teachers, specialised coaches, and ballet instructors, offering an unparalleled learning environment within the region.
One of the major advantages of our school is our small class sizes. In Juniors, these average between 8 and 12, while seniors average between 14 and 16 (capped at a maximum of 20).
Children are also able to take advantage of our excellent facilities, which includes our training pitch here at Moorland School, that sits alongside our indoor 4G sports centre.
Located in a national beauty spot and picturesque surroundings throughout the year, we aim to make the most of this in our teaching, enriching the health and well-being of our students and further enhancing the curriculum.
Academic excellence is a key part of our mission, and we also strive to ensure all children develop strong self-esteem and build their confidence through positive, constructive criticism and by developing strong relationships with peers.
Our accommodation is spacious, modern, and safe. Our dorms are single-sex and typically house between 4 and 6 pupils per suite.
These facilities are available for children of all ages from primary age up until secondary.
Catering for Excellence
We understand that a child’s diet is essential for optimum growth and development, hence why Moorland takes catering extremely seriously and aims to provide a well-balanced and enjoyable variety of high-quality dishes.
All meals are served fresh and are carefully crafted in-house by our experienced and fully qualified chefs. This also means we can tailor meals on an individual basis, and we send our menus to parents out regularly for review and feedback, enabling you to see exactly what food your child is provided with for added reassurance. Essentially, we know that a daily diet and food intake is fuel for the body and mind and is why we place such importance on this matter.
