As a non-selective independent school, we enrol children based upon their behaviour which allows us to ensure that all children learn in a happy environment.
Children are fully assessed when they join Moorland to help us identify any educational differences or special requirements for individual learning styles. We also aim to identify all areas of strength within students. This allows us to deliver teaching that allows each student to reach their academic potential.

Year 3 & 4 children have explored where some of the food in our school kitchen really comes from. 🥘
We examined labels on various food items to find out which countries they were made in. Then, we got out the atlases to locate those countries and measured the distance each item had travelled to reach us here in Clitheroe. 🌍
Using calculators, the children estimated how long the journey might have taken—whether by land, sea, or air. ⛴️ ✈️
It was fascinating to see just how far some of our everyday foods had come! 🍫 🍍🥫

Our young adventurers kicked off their exploration by orientating their maps to ensure they were heading in the right direction to find the injured animals 🗺️💚
Once they located their furry friends, they enjoyed some refreshing watermelon as a treat! 🍉
After that, they got creative, gathering big sticks to craft stretchers for their new animal friends, using sticks and rope to make sure everyone got back to camp safely 🏕️
What a fantastic blend of teamwork, problem-solving, and fun! 🌟💪

Our young designers visited @clitheroemarket_ and Walkers Fruit & Veg to handpick the perfect ingredients for their smoothie creations. Back at school, they chopped, peeled, juiced, blended—and of course, tasted their delicious inventions! 🥤✨

We believe every child has the right to a high standard of education which is why we are academically non-selective. We select students based on their behaviour and personal attributes and combine this with a dedicated teaching and pastoral team. We strive to educate your child to the highest academic level, whilst ensuring they stay grounded.
We want you to feel confident in choosing Moorland to educate your child, which is why we operate an ‘open door’ policy with regard to parental visits. Our dedication to education is reflected in our students’ success.
