Learning in pyjamas reminded us how important it is to feel comfortable, safe and supported in school 🌈✨
Some of our children even enjoyed a well-earned dessert treat after a half term of showing kindness and being brilliant friends 🍪💛

Our Year 1/2 children dived deep into Chinese culture on their trip to Chinatown today 🏮
Linking their Geography learning to real-life experiences, they explored Chinatown, dressed in traditional outfits, enjoyed story time, learnt new Chinese words and created their own dragon and fish lanterns 🐉🐟
We even had a singalong on the way home, just in time to get ready for the school disco! ✨🎶

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our pupils who has been signed as Manchester United’s youngest UTC player - what an extraordinary achievement!
Through dedication, resilience and passion, she is truly living her dream. Her commitment shines both on and off the pitch, balancing her training with excellent effort in school and consistently demonstrating impeccable manners and attitude.

Yesterday, they ventured to the Gruffalo and Friends Clubhouse, where they met some of our favorite characters from their literacy lessons: the Gruffalo, the Witch, and the Highway Rat! 🐭✨
The children were captivated as they listened to enchanting stories by Julia Donaldson, including ‘Room on the Broom’ and ‘The Smeds and the Smoos’. 📚💖
What a fantastic, fun-filled trip! We can’t wait to share more stories and adventures together! 🌳

Our 2–3’s spotted the puddles and that was it - Forest School could wait! ☔️
From giant splashes to muddy squelches, the adventure began before we’d even left the playground 🌧️
There were soaked wellies, muddy suits, rosy cheeks and the BEST laughs! And of course, our staff were right there in the middle of it all (no staying clean allowed! 🤭).
These spontaneous moments are pure childhood magic ✨
Wet, muddy, joyful and full of discovery… just how outdoor play should be 🌿

Our Toddler One children have been busy exploring a cereal sensory tray, discovering different textures, sounds and movements as they scoop, tip and fill using a variety of tools. 🥣
From tiny hands grasping spoons to careful concentration as bowls overflow, this simple activity supports fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and early mathematical concepts - all while having lots of messy fun!

Reception absolutely loved today’s Forest School session! 🌿🌧️
A little rain (and a lot of mud!) never stops our youngest explorers.
Today’s adventure was all about puddle jumping, muddy hands, teamwork and embracing the great outdoors in all its autumn glory.

We were so lucky to have Steph from Steph’s Cleaning Services visit us today as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic! 🤩
Steph shared all about how she helps her clients and businesses, and how she manages her amazing team👩💼✨
The children had a super time learning how to use different cleaning tools, and we even got to clean the toys, the floor, and fold toilet paper! 🧽
It was such a fun, hands-on way to understand the value of teamwork and the importance of helping others.
A massive THANK YOU to Steph for the fantastic lesson and for showing us how every job, big or small, makes a difference! 🙌❤️

Our Key Stage 2 had an amazing day exploring the river, spotting wildlife, and learning all about the life cycles of mayflies and trout! 🪶🐠
There were lots of games, teamwork and hands-on fun as we discovered how rivers are full of life.
Back at school, we continued with more exciting activities to explore life cycles and migration - a fact filled day 🐠 🎣 ✨

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!
