PGL Day Two 🌟
Today has been another action-packed day at PGL! The children have taken part in raft building, survival skills and have continued to challenge themselves by overcoming fears and trying new experiences.
We are incredibly proud of all of our children for showing bravery, resilience and teamwork throughout the day. They are making memories that will last a lifetime.

Day One at PGL Winmarleigh Hall 🌟
This afternoon, our children arrived at PGL for a fun-filled first day of adventure! The children have already taken part in orienteering, tackled the zip wire and enjoyed a range of team challenges together.
We are so proud of how well all of the children have settled in, shown resilience and supported one another throughout the afternoon. Well done to everyone!

This afternoon, some of our youngest artists dove into a vibrant art lesson focused on collaging! 🎨
They explored a range of materials and techniques such as layering, refining their skills to express their unique creativity. It was wonderful to see their imaginations come to life through their colourful creations! 🌈✨

PSHE and maths in action! 💰🛒
This week, the children took their learning beyond the classroom with a trip to Booths and Clitheroe Market.
After learning all about money in maths and the difference between needs and wants in PHSE, the children carefully chose the items we needed for our class picnic 🍎🥪
We were so proud of their amazing manners, sensible choices, and teamwork -making sure all of our needs came before any wants! ⭐ #PHSE #booths #clitheroe

🌍 Celebrating 100 years of David Attenborough 🌍
Some of our children began researching the life and work of David Attenborough to celebrate his 100th birthday.
The children researched, created and presented their findings, whilst demonstrating the presentation and speaking skills developed through our @littlevoicesbdrv lessons!
We have loved learning more about one of the world’s greatest naturalists and look forward to continuing our work next week 💙

We had an amazing time learning about the importance of growing our own crops and how to lead a healthy lifestyle. The children discovered how fresh fruits and vegetables are grown, and they even got their hands dirty planting onion bulbs! 🧅
Along the way, we met some adorable animals, including quails, turkeys, ducks, and chickens. The highlight was a playful dog named Jake and a curious emu called Rodney! 🐾🪶
To top off our day, the children made their own pizzas, which were cooked in a man-made clay oven outside 🍕🔥
What a wonderful experience filled with learning, laughter and delicious food! 🌼💚

Our 2–3’s have been fully immersed in their outdoor learning adventures 🌿☀️
From balancing and transporting to mark making, water investigations and imaginative hideaway play, the children have been busy exploring their environment in the very best way, through hands on discovery and curiosity led play 💚
Our woodland inspired learning space has quickly become a firm favourite, encouraging teamwork, problem solving, risk taking and plenty of muddy fun along the way!
We love seeing the children’s confidence and imaginations flourish outdoors ✨

Our Toddler 1 children have been busy little explorers, discovering all the different patterns and marks they could make in the damp sand using animal footprints 🐾
Stomping and pressing in the sand, the children loved investigating how the animals made a mark 🦒
Sensory play like this encourages curiosity, fine motor development and early mark-making skills, all whilst having lots of messy fun! 🤎

Reception absolutely loved today’s Forest School session! 🌿🌧️
A little rain (and a lot of mud!) never stops our youngest explorers.
Today’s adventure was all about puddle jumping, muddy hands, teamwork and embracing the great outdoors in all its autumn glory.

We were so lucky to have Steph from Steph’s Cleaning Services visit us today as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic! 🤩
Steph shared all about how she helps her clients and businesses, and how she manages her amazing team👩💼✨
The children had a super time learning how to use different cleaning tools, and we even got to clean the toys, the floor, and fold toilet paper! 🧽
It was such a fun, hands-on way to understand the value of teamwork and the importance of helping others.

Our Key Stage 2 had an amazing day exploring the river, spotting wildlife, and learning all about the life cycles of mayflies and trout! 🪶🐠
There were lots of games, teamwork and hands-on fun as we discovered how rivers are full of life.

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!
