🌍♻️ Year 5 & 6 had an inspiring trip to Eco Town in Leyland!
Our pupils explored how recycling works in real life, watching machines, conveyor belts and even robots in action 🤖
They discovered how everyday choices can make a big difference in protecting our planet.
The visit ended with each child making a personal pledge to care for the environment, along with contributing to a creative piece in the Eco Town art gallery 🎨.
A fantastic day of learning, curiosity and taking steps towards a greener future! 💚

🌟 This afternoon, our fantastic Reception children had the wonderful opportunity to show some of our new Hybrid children, who are set to start school in September, around our school grounds! 🌱✨
They guided them through various areas to help them settle in comfortably. From the library 📚 and canteen 🍽️ to the computer room 💻 and quiet area 🤫, our Reception children made sure everyone got a chance to explore and tick off their lists, whilst being wonderful role models.
It’s heartwarming to see our school community come together! 💖

Why keep learning inside when you can take it outdoors? 🌿
Did you know that spending time in nature can reduce stress, boost mood and improve concentration in children?
During RE, our children explored big questions such as “What does the word worldview mean to you?” and “What is religion?” They expressed their thoughts creatively through art, using oil pastels to bring their ideas and perspectives to life. 🎨✨
The children then articulated their ideas respectfully and maturely, impressing us with their vocabulary and depth of thought.
Learning, thinking and creating, all inspired by the world around us. 🌍

Today has been a busy one, from taking learning outdoors enjoying learning about riddles in the fresh air to practical maths to thoughtful homework projects on protecting our oceans 🌊
We were also delighted to welcome some of our Reception 2026 children for their very first day. We are so proud of how confidently they settled in and how much they enjoyed the experience. Keep an eye out… you’ll be seeing more of them soon 👀

Our Pre-School children loved their first Forest School session back, exploring all of our exciting new installations with curiosity, confidence and huge smiles. From splashing in the water wall, balancing together, climbing, investigating and creating their own adventures, every corner sparked imagination and discovery🪵
Forest School is all about building resilience, independence, teamwork and a love of nature and today was the perfect reminder that some of the very best learning happens outside.
We can’t wait to see where their adventures take them next! 🌲🤎

Big adventures for our wonderful 2-3’s today as they enjoyed a fun filled trip to @imagineoswaldtwistle ✨
From climbing, exploring and sliding to building confidence, friendships and independence, every moment was packed with laughter and learning. Trips like these help our children develop communication skills, physical confidence and curiosity about the world around them, all whilst making magical memories with their friends at such a special place! 💛

Reception absolutely loved today’s Forest School session! 🌿🌧️
A little rain (and a lot of mud!) never stops our youngest explorers.
Today’s adventure was all about puddle jumping, muddy hands, teamwork and embracing the great outdoors in all its autumn glory.

We were so lucky to have Steph from Steph’s Cleaning Services visit us today as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic! 🤩
Steph shared all about how she helps her clients and businesses, and how she manages her amazing team👩💼✨
The children had a super time learning how to use different cleaning tools, and we even got to clean the toys, the floor, and fold toilet paper! 🧽
It was such a fun, hands-on way to understand the value of teamwork and the importance of helping others.

Our Key Stage 2 had an amazing day exploring the river, spotting wildlife, and learning all about the life cycles of mayflies and trout! 🪶🐠
There were lots of games, teamwork and hands-on fun as we discovered how rivers are full of life.

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!
