We understand that military life comes with a lot of movement — new postings, changing routines, and time away from home. One of the biggest challenges for many Forces families is making sure their children have stability and consistency in their education.
That’s where Moorland comes in.
A Home Away From Home
At Moorland, we’re more than just a school — we’re a second home for your child. Our warm, friendly boarding environment gives military children a place to feel settled, supported, and part of a caring community, even when things are changing at home.
A Small School Where Everyone Belongs
We pride ourselves on being a small, close-knit school where every pupil is truly known. Your child won’t get lost in the crowd — instead, they’ll be part of a family-style community where they’re seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
What Is the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA)?
If you’re currently serving in the Armed Forces, you may be entitled to something called the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA). It’s a financial allowance provided by the Ministry of Defence to help military families pay for boarding school fees.
The idea behind the CEA is to make sure your child can enjoy a stable, uninterrupted education — even if your job means frequent moves or overseas postings. It helps cover the cost of boarding, giving your child a consistent school life in one place while you’re posted elsewhere.
At Moorland, we work closely with families who use the CEA, and we’re here to guide you through the process from start to finish — so it’s one less thing to worry about.
Peace of Mind While You Serve
We know it’s not easy being away from your child — but at Moorland, you can feel confident they’re in a safe, caring, and structured environment. From academic support to pastoral care, we’re here to give them the stability they need to flourish, and give you the peace of mind you deserve.
