🌟 Huge congratulations to our Moorland Junior School superstar, Lachlan, who has earned his place in the Manchester City Advanced Group! ⚽️💙
Lachlan, one of our wonderful Reception pupils, has been a fabulous addition to our school family – always happy, hardworking and showing real talent both on and off the pitch.
Lachlan trains during the school day three times a week with our fabulous and talented partners @soccer_hq_ All of our football academy pupils train with them, with no additional costs – making elite coaching part of everyday school life.
His mum shared that sending Lachlan to Moorland was “the best decision she’s ever made”-we couldn’t agree more. We’re so proud of you, Lachlan, and can’t wait to see what the future holds! 💫👏

Each country was chosen to celebrate the cultures and heritage of children in our school, making the day even more special. 💛
A huge thank you to all our visitors who joined us for our Open Day – it was a wonderfully busy day showcasing our school.

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!

👩🍳🍛 Year 5/6 had a deliciously fun day at Flavours Cookery School in Whalley!
They chopped, whisked, shaped, and stirred their way through a hands-on culinary adventure — from animal-shaped bread starters 🐘 to homemade tikka masala 🍗🥦 and classic school cake 🍰 for dessert.
Laughter filled the kitchen as our budding chefs cooked up confidence and creativity.

🥕🥦 Exciting things to share from Reception Class!
We’ve been diving into the world of healthy eating and balanced diets! 🌟
Our little chefs whipped up a deliciously nutritious vegetable soup, learning all about hygiene by washing hands and cleaning surfaces - safety first! 🧼✨
With child-safe knives, they chopped colourful vegetables, discovering the importance of looking after ourselves and each other 🔪🎛️
And guess what? We wrapped up our cooking adventure with a sweet treat: our very own Rocky Road! 🍫🍬
We learned that it’s all about balance - enjoying those tasty treats in moderation keeps us healthy and happy!

Aria had her soup for dinner! She was so proud of herself and so were we 🥰
Year 3 & 4 had so much fun this making our dancing sculptures! ✨
The children used pipe cleaners and tin foil to build their figures, experimenting with different shapes and forms.
Once their sculptures were ready, they chose a “move” or “pose” for their dancer, capturing movement in a really creative way. 🕺
The class really enjoyed the activity and showed great imagination in bringing their dancing figures to life! 💃🏻

Diving into Blue Planet! 🐠🦈
Today we had an incredible trip to Blue Planet Aquarium! We explored all kinds of fascinating fish, came eye-to-eye with a shark, and learned how dangerous plastic litter can be for sea creatures and for humans too. 🌊 🐳
We even saw a real aqua lung during the scuba diving show and discovered how divers breathe underwater. To end our brilliant day, we enjoyed a special treat at McDonald’s! 🤿 🍟
A fantastic day of learning and fun — and a great reminder that we all need to help protect our oceans. 💙
