Our older pupils have been busy in DT with their very own Come Dine With Me project! 👩🍳👨🍳
They began by researching recipes suitable for a range of dietary needs, before planning and preparing a delicious three-course menu:
🥣 Starter: Homemade hummus and pitta
🍝 Main: Garlic & spinach cheesy linguine
🍫 Dessert: Chocolate flapjack
Throughout the project, pupils showed fantastic teamwork-carefully weighing ingredients, following recipes and developing their chopping and food preparation skills.
A brilliant combination of creativity, collaboration, and practical learning. Well done, everyone!

What a fantastic day for our pupils at Manchester Museum! 🏛️✨
We stepped into the role of real scientists, learning how to classify animals in different ways and exploring a range of British wildlife. The children then became curators, creating their own museum spaces complete with fascinating facts and thoughtful questions to challenge their audience. We were so impressed with their creativity and knowledge! 🐾📚
Afterwards, we explored the wonders of the museum, from towering dinosaur skeletons and ancient fossils to incredible Egyptian and Asian artefacts. There was curiosity, excitement and plenty of “wow” moments throughout the day! 🦖🌍

Early Eid celebrations at Moorland 🌙✨
With many of our children heading off on school trips over the next few days, we took the opportunity to come together and celebrate the upcoming Eid.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch from The Authentic Asian food stall at Clitheroe Market, followed by a wholesome play time in the sun and an hour of Eid and Ramadan crafts.
Thank you to Tahir and his family for cooking up such a lovely lunch for the children.
We would like to wish all those celebrating Eid a joyful and special time with family and friends.🤍

Out and about in our community 🌿
Some of our School Ready children enjoyed a spontaneous walk into the town centre, turning a simple outing into a rich learning experience.
From exploring the supermarket and talking about everyday items, to developing road safety awareness and practising good manners in the community, every moment was full of purpose.
Of course, no trip would be complete without a stop at the park on the way home. Time to play, laugh and build those all important friendships 💛

Fresh air, big smiles and lots of music-making 🎶🌿
Our babies loved exploring the outdoors, combining the calming benefits of fresh air with the joy of musical instruments. From gentle taps to curious shakes, every sound supported their sensory development, listening skills and early communication.
These simple moments create such meaningful learning experiences, supporting confidence, creativity and a love for exploring the world around them 💛

Our 2–3’s had the most wonderful spring adventure at Thornton Hall Farm 🌼🐣
From meeting the sweetest baby animals to exploring the farm and taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of springtime, it was a day full of curiosity and hands-on learning.
The children loved getting up close with the animals, building confidence and developing their understanding of the world around them. 🐑🌱
Trips like these are such a special part of our curriculum; bringing learning to life, encouraging language and creating memories we’ll be talking about for a long time to come 💛✨

Reception absolutely loved today’s Forest School session! 🌿🌧️
A little rain (and a lot of mud!) never stops our youngest explorers.
Today’s adventure was all about puddle jumping, muddy hands, teamwork and embracing the great outdoors in all its autumn glory.

We were so lucky to have Steph from Steph’s Cleaning Services visit us today as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic! 🤩
Steph shared all about how she helps her clients and businesses, and how she manages her amazing team👩💼✨
The children had a super time learning how to use different cleaning tools, and we even got to clean the toys, the floor, and fold toilet paper! 🧽
It was such a fun, hands-on way to understand the value of teamwork and the importance of helping others.

Our Key Stage 2 had an amazing day exploring the river, spotting wildlife, and learning all about the life cycles of mayflies and trout! 🪶🐠
There were lots of games, teamwork and hands-on fun as we discovered how rivers are full of life.

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!
