Today was our Gingerbread House Competition, and wow every single entry was incredible! From creative characters to chocolate masterpieces, sparkling decorations and more, we are bursting with pride for all the children who took part. 🧑🍳🏠🎄👩🍳

✨ Reception School Trip to the Magical Polar Express! ✨
Today our children stepped straight into the storybook world of The Polar Express - steam train, conductor, Father Christmas and all! 🚂🎅✨
From waving their golden tickets to boarding the train, to receiving the first gift of Christmas - the magic bell, every moment felt truly enchanting.

🎅✨ Year 1 & 2 have been learning how to write a letter to Santa during their English lessons!
The children worked hard to use ambitious adjectives so Santa knows exactly what they’re wishing for this Christmas. They also learnt how to edit and redraft their work, producing beautifully neat final letters.
Once our writing was complete, we wrapped up warm and took a little winter walk to the post box to send them safely on their way to the North Pole. 📮💌✨

Our children have enjoyed small-group lessons, weekly, with Haylie and Sinead, building their speaking & listening, drama and performance skills. Intertwined in every session is the confidence to speak publicly and perform for a crowd -life skills they’ll carry forever.
We’ve loved watching our children grow under Haylie and Sinead’s expert guidance. Their skills, confidence and creativity have blossomed, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next term! 🌟

Once upon a Christmas… 🚂✨
Our School Ready children climbed aboard The Polar Express at Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway and set off on a journey filled with wonder, excitement and festive magic 🎄❄️
From twinkling lights and joyful songs to wide eyed smiles and quiet moments of awe, every part of the journey felt like stepping into a storybook.
Experiences like this are just one of the many magical adventures our children are lucky to enjoy while they are with us - creating memories that will be cherished long after the final page is turned ✨🎅❤️

Our Toddler One children had the most magical time celebrating Christmas Baking Day 🎄✨
From mixing and stirring to lots of giggles and festive fun, the children loved getting hands on in the kitchen and exploring new textures, smells and tastes.
A wonderful way to build independence, fine motor skills and make special Christmas memories together ❤️🎅🍪

We were so lucky to have Steph from Steph’s Cleaning Services visit us today as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic! 🤩
Steph shared all about how she helps her clients and businesses, and how she manages her amazing team👩💼✨
The children had a super time learning how to use different cleaning tools, and we even got to clean the toys, the floor, and fold toilet paper! 🧽
It was such a fun, hands-on way to understand the value of teamwork and the importance of helping others.

Our Key Stage 2 had an amazing day exploring the river, spotting wildlife, and learning all about the life cycles of mayflies and trout! 🪶🐠
There were lots of games, teamwork and hands-on fun as we discovered how rivers are full of life.

What an incredible day at the Moorland Family Fun Afternoon! 🎉
Our school field was bursting with colour and laughter as families enjoyed a fantastic carnival-themed event, brought to life by Moorland Junior School and Moorland Junior School PTA.
From the vibrant face painting and bustling stalls to classic games like Hook a Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was fun at every turn. The inflatable helter skelter by Funtime Inflatables was a huge hit, while little ones loved the soft play and toddler bouncy castle provided by Ribble Valley Soft Play Hire.
🎶 The Ribble Valley Community Band and Phoenix Solo filled the air with music, and Adrian Catch wowed us all with his magical tricks! Families captured memories at the Photo Booth, refuelled with delicious food from Amico Mio, cooled down with ice cream, and relaxed with a drink from the bar.
💛 A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today so special — what a brilliant celebration of our school community!
