As a non-selective independent school, we enrol children based upon their behaviour which allows us to ensure that all children learn in a happy environment.
Children are fully assessed when they join Moorland to help us identify any educational differences or special requirements for individual learning styles. We also aim to identify all areas of strength within students. This allows us to deliver teaching that allows each student to reach their academic potential.

🌍♻️ Year 5 & 6 had an inspiring trip to Eco Town in Leyland!
Our pupils explored how recycling works in real life, watching machines, conveyor belts and even robots in action 🤖
They discovered how everyday choices can make a big difference in protecting our planet.
The visit ended with each child making a personal pledge to care for the environment, along with contributing to a creative piece in the Eco Town art gallery 🎨.
A fantastic day of learning, curiosity and taking steps towards a greener future! 💚

🌟 This afternoon, our fantastic Reception children had the wonderful opportunity to show some of our new Hybrid children, who are set to start school in September, around our school grounds! 🌱✨
They guided them through various areas to help them settle in comfortably. From the library 📚 and canteen 🍽️ to the computer room 💻 and quiet area 🤫, our Reception children made sure everyone got a chance to explore and tick off their lists, whilst being wonderful role models.

Did you know that spending time in nature can reduce stress, boost mood and improve concentration in children?
During RE, our children explored big questions such as “What does the word worldview mean to you?” and “What is religion?” They expressed their thoughts creatively through art, using oil pastels to bring their ideas and perspectives to life. 🎨✨
The children then articulated their ideas respectfully and maturely, impressing us with their vocabulary and depth of thought.
Learning, thinking and creating, all inspired by the world around us. 🌍

Today has been a busy one, from taking learning outdoors enjoying learning about riddles in the fresh air to practical maths to thoughtful homework projects on protecting our oceans 🌊
We were also delighted to welcome some of our Reception 2026 children for their very first day. We are so proud of how confidently they settled in and how much they enjoyed the experience. Keep an eye out… you’ll be seeing more of them soon 👀

We select students based on their behaviour and personal attributes and combine this with a dedicated teaching and pastoral team.
