Former Moorland Boy signed by Crystal Palace

£22 Million Signing for Adam Wharton

Blackburn Rovers to Crystal Palace

We are absolutely delighted to hear the news that Moorland Old Boy (19!!), Adam Wharton, has signed a £22 million dream transfer move from Blackburn Rovers to Crystal Palace.

We are over the moon for Adam and his family.

Witnessing the dedication and hard work that our pupils and family give in order to reach the top is truly inspiring. Many of our footballers are tied to professional clubs through their time at Moorland, and we have an incredible track record of producing professional footballers – obviously, with a great deal of praise to Mr Jackson!!

“Adam helped us clinch three National Championships and a series of Lancashire titles. Adam’s exceptional skill, unwavering determination, and steadfast commitment served as the cornerstone of Moorland’s triumphs, propelling the team to unprecedented heights. Thank you Adam and good luck at Palace.”

Charlie Jackson

All our pupils are encouraged to give their all and some, like Adam, manage to live their dreams.

Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire after the recent Wrexham match, Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson said:

“We all know Adam is a great player. [He is] a joy to develop, a joy to work with daily. We know there are a lot of rumours and when you have a good player, which Adam is and maybe an England player one time, there is a chance he could go all the way.”

“Everybody has ambitions of course. Adam enjoys playing the football I like, as well. If a player should get an opportunity to play Premier League football then of course it is a difficult choice.”
