Helping Children Achieve Academic Excellence and Emotional & Social Confidence
Seeing our students as an extension of our own family is paramount in the levels of success and happiness we deliver. We actively encourage warmth and respect for all and ensure that we celebrate success at every opportunity. We strive to support cultural differences whilst maintaining a traditional approach to education.
We understand that every child is unique and this should be reflected in their learning journey. We prepare our students academically and socially in preparation for successful and fulfilling lives.
Education
Helping Children Reach Their Full Potential
As a non-selective independent school, we enrol children based upon their behaviour which allows us to ensure that all children learn in a happy environment.
Children are fully assessed when they join Moorland to help us identify any educational differences or special requirements for individual learning styles. We also aim to identify all areas of strength within students. This allows us to deliver teaching that allows each student to reach their academic potential.

In English, Year 3 & 4 had a fabulous time carrying out independent research on laptops to find out all about Jacques Cousteau. 🖥️
They explored his personal life, learned about his fascinating career, and uncovered lots of interesting facts. 💡
This exciting research will help them prepare to write their own biographies about him in a couple of weeks. 📕

Our Cookery enrichment group made some sweet treats 😋
We made chocolate bark by melting the chocolate, swirling some fancy patterns and adding extra sprinkles 🍫
We then made some Biscoff bites. We had to use our hands to mix the ingredients and form our bites. We added drizzles of Biscoff and crumbled on some biscuit. It all smelt so good! Yum! 😋

🌳✨ At our latest @wildoneadventures_ session, the excitement was palpable as a storm was forecast for 2pm!
Our amazing children leapt into action, splitting into two teams to build shelters before the rain arrived. ⛺️
It was incredible to see their teamwork in action - everyone had a role, and they all worked together to create sturdy, creative shelters that would keep them dry! 💪🌧️
Once the storm passed, they gathered around the campfire to share some delicious popcorn, made right there in the great outdoors. Nothing beats that feeling of teamwork and the joy of enjoying a tasty treat together! 🍿❤️

Year 1/2 have been getting creative with their journeys to school! 🏫✨
First, they explored the shapes, colours and emotions of their daily routes through abstract map artwork 🗺️🎨
Then, they transformed their designs into stunning stained glass-style windows, letting the light shine through their stories! 🌈🖼️
Such an inspiring way to combine geography, art and personal experience 💡❤️

As part of their topic on Electricity, Year 3 & 4 explored conductors and insulators. 💥
We got our circuits back out, but this time we added different materials like a paper clip, tin foil, plastic fork, pipe cleaner, and lolly stick to test how each one affected the circuit. 🔋
The children were amazed to see their predictions were correct—especially when they discovered how much of an impact the conductor had on the circuit. ⚡️
It was a great hands-on experiment that really brought their learning to life! 👏🏻

Be Confident in Choosing Your Child's Education
We believe every child has the right to a high standard of education which is why we are academically non-selective. We select students based on their behaviour and personal attributes and combine this with a dedicated teaching and pastoral team. We strive to educate your child to the highest academic level, whilst ensuring they stay grounded.
We want you to feel confident in choosing Moorland to educate your child, which is why we operate an ‘open door’ policy with regard to parental visits. Our dedication to education is reflected in our students’ success.
