Moving home often or relocating and changing a child’s school can have a detrimental effect on their learning journey, causing unnecessary disruption and difficulties. Considering a Boarding School can often provide an option for stability and deliver a consistent learning environment.
The MOD also helps to overcome this disruption, by funding an allowance (CEA). This allowance contributes to 90% of boarding school fees. This allows your family to move together but for the child to have a continuous education in a familiar location from the age of 8.
When selecting Moorland, we ensure your child feels like they are in a home away from home and are welcomed into our warm family environment. We have successfully nurtured generations of children from military families, acknowledging the challenges that families face, striving to help families overcome them in the most comfortable and academically positive way possible.
We have been able to welcome children from the Military community through our doors for over ten years, providing children with much needed stability and a familiar learning environment. Our school is a small, family co-educational CEA approved establishment. Meaning we can accept Armed Service Boarding School allowance. The small family environment we curate at the school provides a nurtured, safe space for your child to feel at home. From ages 8 to 18, Moorland provides an exceptional level of education and pastoral care to Military dependant children with families based all over the world.
Providing the highest level of support and care to tri-service personnel is something Moorland prides itself upon. With a dedicated Military Liaison Officer, who works with Army Welfare Services to understand the needs of your family and help with the process and eligibility of CEA Funding.
Placing your child into a boarding school can be a daunting process, we are here to guide you every step of the way. Deciding on boarding school for your child provides a safe, stable and balanced educational journey with minimal disruption to their progress. Children arrive as young as 8 and are nurtured through a structured curriculum until they are 18. The bond they are able create with our house parents, teachers and staff is one that lasts a lifetime, providing confidence and a social safety for your child.
At any one time we have over 30 Military dependent children within our school, meaning that your child can easily integrate as part of the Moorland family, never feeling isolated because of their circumstances. Often we find children already know each other through parents being in the same or neighbouring regiments, this radiates familiarity and echoes the family feeling, ensuring your child is happy and comfortable in our school.
We are an affordable boarding school option for Military personnel within the UK and abroad. The MOD will fund 90% of your child’s school fees.
