An absolutely fantastic result for the Moorland Under 16’s!!!

What a final it was! Our under 16’s put on an absolutely stellar performance to clinch the ESFA under 16 National Championship title. It was a display of pure brilliance, showcasing incredible passing and moving that left everyone in awe. But this victory wasn’t just about the game; it was about something much more profound.
On the pitch at Stoke City, something truly special unfolded. Our boys played with their hearts on their sleeves, honouring the memory of the late Hector Eccles, a beloved member of our football Academy and the Moorland Family. Hector’s spirit was with us, and the boys wore T-shirts in his memory, paying tribute to the impact he had on all of us.
The atmosphere was electric, with emotions running high as we remembered Hector. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the ESFA for allowing us to observe a minute of silence in his honour. The respect shown by the crowd and Priory school was truly impeccable, a testament to the love and admiration we all had for Hector.
As the game unfolded, our boys rose to the occasion, demonstrating not just their skill on the field but also their resilience and unity as a team.
Despite facing a tough Priory team from Luton, they dug deep and secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory, sealing the championship title.
Coach Jackson wants to take this moment to express his deepest thanks to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Anthony, your unwavering support has been invaluable, and to the management team, ‘thank you for standing by us every step of the way’.
But most importantly, we want to thank our parents and players. Your dedication, passion, and belief have been the driving force behind this success. The players showed maturity beyond words, not just in the final, but throughout the entire season. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
