As part of our house events, students and teachers have participated in a cross-country event throughout the school grounds each representing their schoolhouses. This was the first competition of our house events for this school year with many more planned for 2022.
For the event, the students were encouraged to wear their house colours to show their allegiances, with the school being split into its three representative houses; Wilkie, Mather and Harrison.
The distance of the course was reflected in the age of the students, with the sixth form and seniors running further than anybody else… some of our teachers even joined in too! Every student that participated, walking or running, gained valuable points for their house, with the houses gaining an amazing 560 points between them on the day!
A huge congratulations to our winning house Harrison for gaining a staggering 261 points!
Every teacher, staff member, and parent that attended the event was proud of the students for showing team spirit, dedication, and motivating each other to complete the course.
After the event, there were lots of smiling faces, albeit slightly chilly, as students from all year groups were gathered together to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. A small presentation ceremony took place at the end of the event, acknowledging individual race winners with medals. Following this house captains from the winning were proudly presented the Cross Country Cup by Headteacher, Deborah Frost!
